Katherine Kowalski started crocheting in 1998, and began free form work in October of 2000. Since then, she has exhibited internationally, winning multiple awards for her unique work.

"The Internet introduced me to free form around October of 2000, and it was then that I made my first scrumble. The project I first began with is still unfinished, but it has lived out its most useful purpose -- to instruct me in the ways of creating with new and different techniques, combining all my years of handwork experience to create a harmonious montage of colorways and textures.

"Since 2000 I have been working almost exclusively in free form, experimenting with different techniques, creating many works in the process, some of which are for sale, (on the Acquisitions page).

"I hope you take pleasure from seeing my work displayed here, but if you ever have the chance to see free form work in person -- take it. The computer, though highly useful in many ways, doesn't do justice to the amazing color and texture of fiber art. Enjoy!"

Katherine Kowalski lives in the high plains of Wyoming. (You can reach her via e-mail.)
